Terms of Service
Effective March 18, 2026
Agreement
By creating an account or using Twiggle, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.
Eligibility
Parent and guardian accounts require you to be at least 18 years old. Children may only use Twiggle with active parental consent and an account created by their parent or guardian.
Account Responsibilities
- Parents are responsible for all activity on their child's account
- You must provide accurate information during registration
- You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials
- You must notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
AI Scanning Consent
All messages sent through Twiggle — including text, voice, photos, and video calls — are automatically scanned by AI for child safety purposes. This scanning is a condition of using the service and cannot be opted out of. Adult contacts must consent to AI scanning before messaging with a child can begin.
Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Send or facilitate the sending of illegal content
- Attempt to circumvent, disable, or interfere with safety scanning
- Impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity
- Use the service to harass, threaten, or harm others
- Attempt to contact children without proper parental authorization
- Use automated systems to access the service without permission
Content Ownership
You retain ownership of content you create and share through Twiggle. By using the service, you grant Twiggle a license to process your content as necessary to operate the service, perform safety scanning, and fulfill legal obligations.
Content Preservation
Content flagged by our mandatory safety tier may be preserved and reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) as required by federal law (18 U.S.C. § 2258A). Preserved content cannot be modified or deleted by any user, including the content creator, parents, or administrators.
Account Termination
- We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or pose safety risks to children
- Parents may delete their account and their children's accounts at any time
- Upon termination, your data will be deleted within 30 days, except for legally preserved content
Service Availability
We aim to provide reliable, uninterrupted service but do not guarantee 100% availability. In all cases, safety scanning availability takes priority over message delivery speed — messages will be queued rather than delivered unscanned.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Twiggle shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim related to the service shall not exceed the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and applicable state law. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of competent jurisdiction.
Changes to Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify registered users of material changes via email. Continued use of the service after notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
